Chassidic music originated in Eastern Europe in the 18th-19th century and is the link that ties the Jewish people in the Diaspora to the establishment of the State of Israel.
It has been present in the daily life in Israel ever since the days of the first "aliyot" (immigrations), when many of the pioneers wrote Hebrew words to Chassidic tunes they remembered from their homes back in Europe.
For many years since, many Chassidic songs were added, mostly based on words from the Bible and the Jewish prayers.
