The Hebrew poetry and song in Spain was created and developed as a result of its revival in the beginning in the 10th century and continued up until the end of the 15th century with the expulsion of the Jews from Spain.
This period awarded Hebrew music with the most outstanding poets:
Rabbi Shmuel Hanagid, Rabbi Shlomo Ibn-Gvirol, Rabbi Moshe Ben-Ezra, Rabbi Yehuda Halevi and Rabbi Abraham Ben-Ezra, part of whose compositions appear in this compilation.
The 17 songs are sung in Hebrew and in Ladino.
A booklet is enclosed with the words of the songs.
The performers who are part of this CD include: Ruchama Raz, Lior Yeini, Ron Shuval, Geula Noni, Efrat Carmon Tzarus, and the Coat of many Colors Dance Company.
