Arik Lavi was born in Germany and immigrated to Israel as a child in the 30's. He began his artistic career during the War of Independence, and was considered one of the most prominent singers in Israel.
For nearly 60 years he performed and released approximately 15 albums.
His is very well known for his clear pronunciation of words and presenting choruses which strongly emphasized the meanings of the lyrics.
